Polypharmaceutical

Polypharmaceutical and the whole plant “Entourage effect.”  What does that mean, exactly?

It means that the medicinal properties (chemical reactions) cross the blood/brain barrier to:

  • stimulate,
  • enhance, and
  • lengthen pharmaceutical effects of the other components of the plant

The means you take less medicinal cannabis, less often, compared to FDA approved drugs.  And, the medicinal impact is greater than if you break it down to individual components.

We advocate for usage of the whole plant.  It seems to us, that every time we try to synthesize what nature has provided, we create a “Frankenstein” that has adverse reactions that simply doesn’t occur in nature.   Whole plants include CBD, THC, and more than 400 trace compounds vs individual component medicines. Although you see the effects in single component, it is not as pronounced, nor as quick, nor has the impact as when whole plant is used.  Researchers concluded the “entourage effect” magnifies the therapeutic benefits of the plant’s individual components—so that the medicinal impact of the whole plant is greater than the sum of its parts.
